As Peru U-20 international Jairo Concha draws more attention from fans, it appears that other clubs are starting to take notice as well.
Already linked to Sporting Cristal earlier this week, Universidad San Martin sporting director Álvaro Barco has already set a price tag for the young midfielder.
“Fifty per cent of his rights are not going to be sold for less than $1 million,” Barco said (via Ovación). “In addition, he has not played [in] the South American U-20s. I think several players from that team have a great opportunity to boost their value.”
Concha, 19, has made 32 appearances for San Martín this season. In that time, he’s become a regular member of Peru’s under-20s and was one of the U-20s who accompanied the senior side to Russia for the World Cup.
Jesus Pretell – Concha’s teammate at San Martín – is on loan from Sporting Cristal, so there is a possibility that both players could be representing the same club in 2019.
